Fall Classic-Thank Goodness its not in Denver

November baseball is like having a beauty pageant outside in January; they don’t mesh. The anniversary just passed of the “Buckner Debacle” and the 2009 Fall Classic has just started. Now the atmosphere has a blustery damp feel to it. That feeling has nothing to do with Pedro versus the Yankees. It’s all about the weather. Bring back the double headers-so day games can be on Saturdays again; cut the season by 20 games along with twilight double headers on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I would think day games on television would help popularize the game with youngsters. These fall-winter classics are numbing. Trust me; I was at game 3 in Cleveland; that was no fun-for many reasons. Can you imagine if the Rockies made the Series this year? With the 32 inches of snow they this week their home-stand probably would have been moved to……………. Milwaukee. This is an easy-out- relocation- for the commissioner’s office for some reason. Snow outs and cold weather on both ends of the baseball season is not good baseball.
